Engagement with the EOSC Community

From opportunity area expert groups to task force participation, there are many ways to engage with the EOSC community.

The vision for EOSC is to put in place a system in Europe to find and access data and services for research and innovation. This is to help researchers store, share, process, analyse and reuse FAIR research outputs within and across disciplines and borders.

The deployment of a network between data repositories and services will be instrumental for Open Science to progress in Europe. For this, the EOSC Federation of nodes is being created.

In order to grow the EOSC Federation and make this a reality, Task Forces and EOSC Opportunity Area (OA) Expert Groups have been created. There are currently six OA expert groups and four task forces. To learn more about the different groups or apply to participate in a group, please follow the links below.

Task Forces:

  1. Technical and Semantic Interoperability
  2. Fair Metrics and Digital Objects
  3. Health Data
  4. Long Term Data Retention

Opportunity Area Expert Groups:

  1. Persistent Identifiers
  2. Metadata, Ontologies, and Interoperability
  3. FAIR Assessment and Alignment
  4. User and Resource Environments
  5. Skills, Training, Rewards, Recognition & Upscaling
  6. Open Scholarly Communication
