Division for IT User Contact and Service Center

We work with user support. We are the ones who answer the phone and answer e-mails, hold trainings and write guides. We analyze usage patterns and find out what improvements the users want and need. We come to the auditorium if the projector does not work, and help with the purchase of computer equipment for both staff and teaching rooms.

The department provides good basic user support for users of IT at UiO. We safeguard knowledge about local solutions and needs, and at the same time build and share expertise about new technology, IT security and UiO's joint solutions.

Main tasks:

  • User support for UiO's faculty, staff and students (UiO help desk), first line support and common point of contact for all users of IT at UiO
  • Physical location close to the users
  • IT training / competency development for all UiO
  • Expertise on UiO's IT services
  • Responsible for user analysis and further use of the findings to improve services and guides
